Home - Practice Pattern Table of Contents
Each of these patterns focuses on rhythms with notes that are tied across measure lines, in 2/4 and 3/4 time. The following page includes patterns in 4/4 time. These ties create syncopated rhythms in many of the patterns. It is essential to count the beats the entire time that you are practicing so you play them accurately. Visit the practice suggestion page for ideas on how to work on these rhythms. Every pattern includes an audio file that you can listen to or play along with, to ensure that you are performing correctly. Each audio recording begins with a two-measure count-off before the pattern is played. Find out more about The Fundamentals of Rhythm book by Kyle Coughlin.
